Back to All Prayers

From my high school friend Cindy Carroll: I had a knot removed from my lower leg last week. Today I got the pathology report and it showed leukemia cutis and Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This was quite unexpected and tomorrow I will head to Vanderbilt to have a PET scan and a bone marrow biopsy. I don’t know what the course of treatment will be~ but I am ready to fight. And I know that God is with me every step of the way! Please pray for her healing.

Update from Cindy: 9/24/2021 I received a preliminary report and my pet scan showed that the cancer is gone! There is one small lymph node by my heart that was highlighted, but the doctor wasn't worried. I haven’t received my bone marrow biopsy results yet, but I am encouraged. I will get another round of IV chemo and continue taking oral chemo until transplant. The doctor is thinking the bone marrow transplant will be at the beginning of November. Praising God for parting the waters for me!!! 🙌

One month of chemo down and one to go. I am doing ok. I have fatigue almost all day every day with a mixture of energy bursts and then without warning my body decides to hurt and basically stops for the day. It has been a huge blessing to have my IV chemo treatments and weekly monitoring done at CCI. The past 28 days of oral chemo has been managed at home and I am so thankful to get to sleep in my bed each night!!! My white blood cell count is ZERO, so I have to stay somewhat isolated to avoid getting sick. But I am truly thankful for each day! Cancer makes you very aware of the increased potential to meet your Savior early, but if we are honest~ none of us are promised tomorrow. “We make our plans and we hear God laughing” because life changes on a dime and you have to make the most of it. I know that God did not cause this leukemia and I am assured that He is working ALL things for my good! He works ceaselessly and tirelessly “behind the scenes, above the fury, within the fray.” I’m trying my best to learn and grow during this season of my life. The promises of God and the hope found only in Him gives me great joy every day no matter what my circumstances are. In ways it is easier because it is my second battle with leukemia and I know what to expect. Then again, it is kind of harder because it is my second battle and I know what to expect. All I desire is to love and love fiercely!!! And to keep my eyes firmly planted on Jesus!!! Our family is doing amazingly well and we sOO appreciate every prayer, message, text, call, card, gift card and gifts! Sending love and hugs from our family to yours.

We prayed for Cindy this morning in our Shibboleth Prayer Time (8/6/21). Any updates?

Thank you for the update. We prayed for Cindy today during our Shibboleth prayer time.

Update from Cindy I am going to be transparent here. I have felt discouraged about having leukemia again. Two weeks ago, my doctor at Vanderbilt told me that only 3% of Acute Myeloid Leukemia patients have their leukemia present as a subcutaneous solid nodule. He also told me that he can count on ONE hand how many times he has seen this in the past eighteen years as a leukemia specialist. I felt disheartened… until I went to Vanderbilt last week and was told by the very same doctor that most patients (if they are lucky) have 1-3 donors who are perfect matches for their bone marrow transplant. My doctor told me that I had FORTY perfect matches!!! He was both surprised and perplexed by the sheer number of perfect matches when doing a search of the bone marrow registry!!! And I felt like I received a BIG hug from GOD!!! I am saying this to say~ you may feel like God doesn’t see you, like you slipped through a crack and you are no longer visible to Him~ but that’s just not true! God is ALL KNOWING and HE CARES about every single detail of your life!⭐️

I am praying for God's grace, strength, presence, wisdom, and most of all, his peace over you and your team of Dr.'s Our God is Jehovah Rapha, our healer!!

Prayers for you my friend. My hubby had AML since 99 he was on a drug to help and then got a Mutation in his blood and had to have Bone Marrow Transplant! Best Thing he ever did. He was feeling alittle bad at first until his body adjusted to this, but he is cured of Leukemia! You got this! Not only do you have this God is standing right there beside you always! Love you! Prayers always!

Prayers for you and your sweet friend.

Update: This is from Cindy's Facebook page. I want you to know I have read every post, private message and text! Y’all have brought big tears of joy to my eyes because your hearts are soO big and you are prayer Warriors! Well, I’m going to need you! The Vanderbilt doctors told me that regardless of the PET scan and bone marrow biopsy results, I will be having induction chemotherapy to wipe out all of my existing cells and I will once again have a bone marrow transplant. And all I keep hearing (from within me) is “I am ok”! I am not sure when all of this will begin. It will take two weeks or more for the test results to come back and for a plan of care to be established, but I am reminded that my God is a God of miracles! His power is not confined to the Old Testament and Jesus miracles are not only found in the pages of the New Testament! The miracles begin there, but they don’t end there! He already moved the mountain for me and I believe I’ll see Him do it again!🙌 So, let’s do this! Round #2🥊tko

We will be praying for Cindy this morning in our Shibboleth prayer time (7/9/21).
