My husband and I are away from God. We have not been to church in a long time. I have been fighting being bitter and jealous over what other christians have. I envy those that seem to have a great walk with Christ, envy those families who just seem perfect so Godly. I dont know how to grow in christ.

Tamie, my email is nussbau@gmail.com and I would love to invite you to come to Church with me - no strings attached. Jesus loves you and wants you in His family. Please email me and I will be thrilled to go to Church with you.
Tamie, God says He casts our sin as far as the east is from the west and His word also says there is now no condemnation to those who are in the Lord. Just pray & be honest with God who loves you & all of His children greatly. Read His Word & listen to the Holy Spirit. Let God's love hug & warm your spirit. He said He would never leave us or forsake us! Dwell on His word and not your own negative thoughts that will discourage you. When negative thoughts come to my mind as they do at times, I fight back with God's Word & say a Bible verse that I have memorized. I will be praying for you and your husband. Also, ERobinson gave you good advise about getting in a good Bible study & going back to church. Find those who will love on you as Christ does.
Tamie, no one's life is perfect. We all struggle with sins of our own. Romans 3:23 says "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.". Those "perfect, Godly" people are either too proud or ashamed to admit their sins or failures. Some times it hurts too much to share the pain of a loved ones sinful life styles. Please let me encourage you to get back in church and in a Bible study. God loves you and just you posting this prayer request show that God is knocking on your heart asking to be let back in. I will be remembering you in my prayers.
